Those two words "...but God" had meant so much to me, especially since we had that massive prayer meeting on 22 April 2017 in Bloemfontein, where we saw over one million people coming together to ask the Lord Jesus Christ to undertake for our Nation and the results have been amazing.
When people come to me in the street and say that this country has got no future, then I add those two words to the end of their statement "...but God." When they tell me, they are struggling with cancer and the doctor say there is no hope for them, then I say "...but God." When a farmer comes to me and asks me when the drought will break, then I say to him "...but God." When somebody comes to me and says their marriage is in taters and there is no hope for them, then I say "...but God."
If we look at the Gospel of Luke 1:31-37 we will see verse 37 says, "For with God nothing will be impossible." Now I have spoken about this message a number of times and I always ask the crowd whether there are any doctors in the house. Invariably there are a couple of doctors and I say to the people in the crowd "Please ask these doctors, especially if they are gynecologists, whether it is humanly possible for a young virgin girl, who has never known a man to fall pregnant?" They will tell you directly that it is physically impossible, but that is exactly what happened in The Bible.
The young maiden Mary fell pregnant without knowing a man and after nine months gave birth to the Son of God - an incredible miracle. Sarah and Abraham were over a hundred years old and bore a son called Isaac. I often ask the crowd if there is anyone that is over a hundred years old? I have never heard of one person yet. However, there have been some ladies that were in their 90s and I ask the crowd if it is possible for the lady to conceive and bear a child? Of course, they laugh and their answer is always "No!" but Sarah bore a son.
That was the beginning of God's promise to Abraham, where He said to him that he will have more sons and daughters then the grains of sand on the seashore and the stars in the sky. We serve a miracle working God and there is absolutely nothing too difficult for Him.
Blind Bartimaeus sat by the road and cried out to Jesus in Matthew 9:27 "Son of David, have mercy on us!" The people told him to keep quiet and he shouted even louder, because he knew this was his last chance. Jesus turned around in the road and said "Who called my name?" The crowd changed instantly (aren't they fickle), they are with you today and against you tomorrow - if you don't believe me ask the Springbok rugby team. They took Bartimaeus to Jesus and He asked Bartimaeus a strange question "What is it you want Me to do for you?" The blind man said, "Lord that I might receive my eyesight." He instantly received his sight and Jesus said, "Go your way, your faith has made you well." (Mark 10:46-52)
There was a woman with an issue of blood and she had spent all her money on doctors' bills and there was no hope for her. (Matthew 9:20) The woman said to herself that if she could just touch the hem of Jesus' garment, she would be healed. So, she pressed through the crowd and touched His garment, and immediately the issue of blood dried up. Jesus swung around and asked, "Who touched me?" The disciples said, "Lord the people are pressing in from every side." But Jesus said "No, someone touched Me, because virtue went out of His body." The embarrassed woman ran up to Jesus and said it was her. Jesus said, "Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well."
Nothing is impossible for God. I really don't know what it is that you are trusting God for at this moment, but I know it is not too hard for God. The only thing that the Lord Jesus Christ requires of His children is to have faith to believe for the impossible, to "...walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7) and to call those things that aren't as if they were.
The buildup to possibly the biggest Christian prayer meeting the world has ever seen (some say 1.5 million, others say 1.2 million and some even go as far as to say 1.7 million people.) There were 450,000 motorcars, a train coming from Cape Town and thousands of buses all congregating and this all happened within 6 weeks. No tickets were sold and no collection were taken. The budget exceeded R40 million and was all paid for before I stood on the platform. The platform was three stories high and yet the people at the end of the crowd could not even see the platform. The distance of the crowd was over 2 km long and there were 27 stations with big screens, and 600 speakers. It all happened by God and for His glory. People told me continually off-and-on to the buildup of the event that it can't happen and I had to keep saying to myself "...but God...but God...but God."
We need to extend our faith, believe for the impossible, make sure that we've heard from God, put our vision down in writing, share it with those with like spirits and hearts, and don't look back. Luke 9:62 (NKJV), "But Jesus said to him, "No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."
May God bless you as you continue to say those two words when people try and pull you down, when circumstances will go against you, and when you're walking with your head into the wind, "...but God."
