Faith Kids

Hello boys and girls. Jazz and I would like to wish you a happy fun filled new year. We have been back at school for a few weeks now. I must admit that I wasn't too excited to go back because the holidays was such a blast. We had a family holiday camping at the sea and spent most of our time swimming, fishing and making food and toasted marshmallows on the fire with Dad.

We both passed at the end of last year and are now in new grades at school. We both have new teachers, who have been very friendly and welcoming. It's great because most of our friends have moved with us to the new grade. There are a few new children in my class who transferred from different schools. It was so sad to see a few of them crying as their parents dropped them off in the morning at school.

On the first day, one of the new girls sat in the class for the entire lunch break eating her sandwich and sobbing. At first I was not sure if I should speak to her or if she would rather want to be alone. On the second day, I decided to talk to her and introduce myself. I invited her to have lunch with me and play with me outside. She was very shy but said thank you and joined me. Since that day we have spent every break time together playing.

Jessica my new friend told me her family had recently moved from a different city and that all her friends were at her old school. She did not even know any kids in her new neighbourhood. She said she felt all alone and afraid on the first day and that is why she was so upset. It was at that moment that I decided to tell her about my best friend Jesus. I told her about how when you accept Jesus into your heart and become a child of God that He is always with you where ever you go and you are never alone. When you feel scared or lonely you can whisper a prayer and ask God to fill your heart with peace and joy but even better you can also ask Him to send you a friend. Nothing is too big or too small or unimportant to God.

Mommy taught us this scripture when we first started school in Joshua 1:9 "This is my command - be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." This is such a great reminder that no matter what we face God is with us and we do not need to be afraid. I am so grateful to have Jesus in my heart and I am happy that I could tell my new friend about Jesus as well.
