Tertius cycled from Amsterdam to Stuttgart in October 2014 as a first leg of many journeys to create
awareness of the plight of the poor. In March/April 2015 he cycled 1800 km from Pretoria to Cape
Town in South Africa over 12 days.

28 | APRIL / MAY 2016 In June/July 2015 Tertius embarked on a cycling journey from New York to San Francisco, cycling a
massive 6 510 km /4 068 mile cycle tour. Some of the publicity on the New York to San Francisco
tour: SABC Television, Moody Christian Radio Station, Churches; Waunakee, Minneapolis, Owatana,
Tyler, Speaking at various Hospitals; Asheville NC, San Diego CA, Stanford, World Magazine,
Owatana Local Newspaper, Hour of Power, Los Angeles.

How can you assist to make surgeries available to more patients?

During the Miles for Smiles cycle tour through the UK and Ireland 3rd to 28th May:
• We need media coverage to tell the patient stories and of the potential to help so many more and;
• To launch the Surgical guidelines initiative which will assist Tertius with generating a passive

income, leaving him free to spend his time conducting surgeries;
• Speaking opportunities at interested venues such as Churches, medical fraternities and Christian

groups to encourage us all to offer God our gifts and talents and see what wonderful things He will
achieve through us;
• Fund raising for full time volunteers;
• We’re inviting Cyclists to join Tertius – be it for an hour, a day or whatever they’d love to commit to
along the route – for more info on the route contact Karin (below);
• Accommodation for Tertius and his team of 2 accompanying him.
